about us

I still remember the moment, 18 years ago, when my husband and I reached the Eagles Nest hilltop for the first time… We looked out on the uninterrupted views and knew this property already felt like home.

As early sea changers from the intense Sydney film industry, we took the leap and moved with our three young kids to Mullumbimby, relishing our newfound seclusion, while still loving the easy access to incredible beaches, vibrant towns, airports and cities - the best of both worlds!

In 2005, Eagles Nest was just a steep, half paved road, a two bedroom wooden house and a shed, but we had big visions for what this place could be…

The next 18 years was a huge labour of love by my husband and I and a little team of local tradies, as we transformed our simple country shack into a unique, industrial yet contemporary home that embraces the sublime views and natural virgin rainforest surroundings.

Bit by bit, our quirky family home came together (complete with film industry paraphernalia and antiques from our travels), along with the rest of the 100-acre property, organic orchard, beehives, 18-metre magnesium horizon pool, Pool House, sheds and West Wing additions.

We’ve always appreciated how special our home is to us, but it was only after being approached to rent our home to the Bluesfest Byron Bay team and a few international celebrities that we realised how much sharing our little slice of paradise with others added to our own enjoyment of the property.

In the past years, having gained approval for rural tourist facilities, we have thrived on hosting guests, private retreats, exclusive events and personal weddings on the property we still call our family home.

It’s been an amazing journey in our family business so far and we are still so passionate and grateful to share Eagles Nest in a sustainable and joyful way for years to come.

We hope Eagles Nest continues to create magical memories for everyone who visits.
